We Believe …

The Authority of the Bible (Scriptures)

We believe the Bible is God-inspired, the only infallible, and authoritative Word of God, revealing the love of God to the world. We believe that the Old Testament was the type and shadow of better things to come, and that the New Testament is the perfect expression of God’s will and Character as expressed through Jesus Christ.

The Eternal Godhead

We believe there is only one God, Who is a Triune God, eternally self-existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, and who lived a sinless life. We believe in His miracles, in His crucifixion and atoning death through His shed blood and wounded body on the cross, in His bodily resurrection after 3 days, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Godhead, who convicts men of sin, regenerates, baptizes, indwells in believers, seals, and sets apart believers unto a holy life; that He keeps and empowers believers day by day; that He is the Teacher of the Word of God and the Guide for daily living. We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers believers to live a life pleasing unto God, to do the works of Christ, and to meet the needs of all humanity

Man and Original Purpose

We believe that man was created innocent and pure, in the image and likeness of God and that his purpose was to have fellowship with God and dominion over all the works of God. Adam fell through the sin of disobedience. Therefore, all men are corrupted in body, soul, and spirit; and all men need redemption.

Sin

We believe that whatsoever is not of faith is sin and that our sin has been forgiven and not imputed unto us. We believe that if we sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, who will cleanse us of all unrighteousness.

Salvation

We believe that all men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, and that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit. Furthermore we believe that God will reward the righteous with eternal life in heaven, and that He will banish the unrighteous to everlasting punishment in hell.

We believe that salvation is by grace, a free gift of God apart from works, and salvation involves repentance, a change of mind in respect to God and thus turning from one’s own way to God’s way. Salvation is through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and all who receive Jesus Christ are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and become the children of God, and true salvation will be manifested by a changed life.

Sanctification

We believe that Christ is our sanctification and we are therefore sanctified upon our receiving Him, and that we grow in grace as we grow in Christ therefore ever growing in holiness of life.

Healing and Atonement

We believe Divine Healing is the power of God to heal the sick (in mind or body), that healing for every person was included in Christ’s atoning sacrifice, and that it is God’s will for every Christian to minister healing to anyone at any time.

Spiritual Beings: Satan, Demons and Angels

We believe that there is a literal Devil (satan) and that he is the adversary of God and man and that there are spirit beings known as demons and angels.

Spiritual Unity of Believers

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the church. We believe that the church is the body of Christ upon the earth and is to grow up into Him in all things

Discipleship

We believe that the ministry of evangelism (sharing and proclaiming the message of salvation is only possible by grace through faith in Jesus Christ) and discipleship (helping followers of Christ grow up into maturity in Christ) is a responsibility of all followers of Jesus Christ.

The Kingdom of God

We believe the Kingdom of God is what Jesus preached and demonstrated and that we are to continue His ministry in the same manner. We believe that we are to advance the Kingdom of God upon the earth until such time as Christ shall entreat us to enter into the joy of our Lord.

Christian Mission

We believe that the Christian Mission is to: Love God in thought, word, and deed and to love your neighbour as yourself, which is practiced by doing unto them as you would have done unto you. Your love for God and man will be demonstrated by reproducing disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, both domestically and in foreign lands by every Biblical method.

The Future

We believe in the personal, visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment.

  • 1 Thessalonians 2:13 (NKJV) :: For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.
  • 2 Timothy 3:15–17 (NKJV) :: and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
  • 1 John 2:3–6 (NKJV) :: Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
  • John 3:16 (NKJV) :: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
  • Matthew 28:19 (ESV) :: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
  • John 10:30 (ESV) :: I and the Father are one
  • Ephesians 4:4–6 (NKJV) :: There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
  • 1 John 5:7 (NKJV) :: For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.
  • 2 Corinthians 13:14 (NKJV) :: The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
  • Matthew 1:23 (NKJV) :: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
  • John 1:21 (NKJV) :: And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”
  • John 1:29 (NKJV) :: The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
  • Acts 1:11 (ESV) :: and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
  • Acts 2:22–24 (ESV) :: “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know – this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.
  • Romans 8:34 (ESV) :: Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died – more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:3–6 (NKJV) :: For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep.
  • 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) :: For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
  • Philippians 2:5–11 (NKJV) :: Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
  • Hebrews 4:11 (NKJV) :: Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
  • Romans 5:12 (NKJV) :: Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned
  • Romans 3:23–26 (ESV) :: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
  • John 14:6 (ESV) :: Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
  • 1 Peter 5:8 (ESV) :: Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
  • Matthew 8:16 (ESV) :: That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick.
  • Mark 16:17 (NKJV) :: And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
  • Hebrews 1:7 (NKJV) :: And of the angels He says: “Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire.”
  • Revelation 20:11–15 (NKJV) :: Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life.
And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:51–57 (NKJV) :: Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed – in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
