The Pathfinder Co-Mission curriculum is build on a proven and mature foundation, and leading transformational content for spiritual growth, character development, leadership training, identity and faith. The curriculum is formed out of the following Scripture:
Ephesians 1:11–14 (NKJV)
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
From the original Greek language, the word purpose or prothesis can be expanded to mean: “what was set before by God” and to: “appoint, develop, and display publicly”, loosely interpreted: to equip youth to pursue their Godly purpose with passion and perseverance.
We want to take this further, and teach our youth and young adults that in Christ, they are more than conquerors according to Romans 8:37. We believe that the Kingdom of God is not just of words, but power, and that in order to persevere, we need to understand our authority, identity and Divine purpose first. We apply this to both the spiritual and natural aspects of life, both in and out of the church or religious mountain.
Our team is highly experienced, and have seen the power of the Word of God, by the Holy Spirit in and outside the church. We believe in good leadership, character, self-discipline, and skills development in order to steward well. Our vocational components are built around the truth of the above Kingdom or spiritual wisdom, and we teach our students how to walk in a Kingdom mindset, while facing the challenges and opportunities of the physical world in front of them. Most importantly, we facilitate the opportunity to experience a personal relationship, through faith in Jesus Christ, with God as the Father.
Calendar and Schedule
Our program starts on mid-January , and finishes on the 30th of November. Students go on holidays based on the Western Cape School’s calendar. Please contact us to arrange earlier arrivals, or collection from the airport or bus stops. You can contact Carmel directly for additional overnight accommodation for students, parents or family.
Our weekly routine allows for optimal input, while giving students plenty of free time for further studies, social engagement, sport or recreation. We have excellent trail running, beaches, hikes, mountain biking, golf courses, fishing, horse riding and many other activities nearby. We have regular events and gatherings as a community, including worship around the bonfire or in the Chapel, games nights, trivia, movie nights, community braais and potjies.
Our calendar incorporates some of the local church schedule, including worship other key events events, such as Destiny & Freedom Encounter, and First Love Worship evenings.

Pathfinder Co-Mission Discipleship Content
The curriculum structures the personal and spiritual development of students into 4 terms with multiple modules and learning processes throughout each phase, re-enforcing core concepts of discipleship, family, life skills and adventure learning, each with specific outcomes. Below is an overview of the content and outcome goals.
Pathfinder Co-Mission program covers several subjects, and activities as the core program all built around the concept and principles of the Kingdom. We regularly invite subject experts to share their experience and gifting with our students, adding a dynamic aspect to the program. Part of our curriculum requires us to source leading books, and training series, encouraging students to read or watch these in their free time.
Classes consist of daily teaching sessions, interactive discussions and group assignments in a relaxed atmosphere. Lifestyle disciplines are encouraged, and our camps and outings are purpose designed to expand, emphasise or bring practical elements of the program into practice. We keep it fun and position ourselves as coaches and mentors to the students.
Our approach is a form of continuous learning, continuous encouragement and iterative in our subject matter throughout the year. It’s a form of constant re-enforcement. Take Identity as an example. We don’t run through the module on Identity, tick it off and then move on. Our students get sent back into their former environments during the holiday breaks, and come back, usually with questions, concerns and other observations as the transformation processes start working. Some of them, through salvation, deliverance and radical transformation become strangers to their old lives.
We will continually re-enforce the principles, Biblical teaching and foundations of these core truths throughout the year. We have several one-on-one sessions, where we deal with the students individually, as well as the Student Leaders and peer learning sessions..
We may adapt the curriculum from year to year, depending on the class, where they are in their faith and by the leading of the Holy Spirit. We have also partnered with Shofar Church – George and will be offering a fusion of their ministry leadership training, our kingdom discipleship program, and mission training from 2026 onwards.
Foundation (Mid-January to end April)
About three months laying the groundwork every student needs first (core formation):

- Discipleship and Christian foundations;
- God’s presence, worship and relationship with Him; spiritual disciplines;
- The New Man, mind renewal pathways;
- Church belonging – where I fit in the body (Christian community);
- Destiny & Freedom Encounter – He makes beauty from ashes;
- Your own calling, personality, spiritual gifting and career guidance assessment to help you understand who you are and where you’re headed;
- Attributes and gifts of God;
- Kingdom and authority of the believer (foundations);
- Relationships, dating, marriage, family and purity;
- Personality / team dynamics; servant and inspirational leadership foundations;
- Boundaries, communication, goals and habits;
- Fusion camp;
- Digital security, wellbeing and responsibility;
- Healthy lifestyle;
Intensives (May to November)

- Budgeting and financial stewardship
- Worldview / Apologetics 101 / Seven Mountains of Culture
- Evangelism and Missions foundations
- Critical thinking and creative problem solving
- Biblically grounded Divine Healing
- Prayer Counsellor & Deliverance training
- Horizons Camp – Looking ahead
- Intercession and Biblical Spiritual Warfare (foundations)
- Kingdom Business and Entrepreneurship Skills / Digital Entrepreneurship
- Negotiation skills; overcoming fear of failure; growth mindset; resisting unhealthy cultural pressures
- Prophetic or Worship intensives (subject to acceptance and additional costs)
- Shofar Let’s Go cross boarder or regional missions trips
- Liaison with a Study/Career consultant to help with timeous application to universities/programs for the following year

Camps and Team Building:
Adventure learning is built into the program. You may have heard us use the word “fun” several times. This is a vital element of our program – building healthy memories and experiences that are positive fun. Included in the program are camps, outdoor excursions, both physical and cultural, and cross-border mission trip.
We regularly hike, go on scenic walks, strolls on the beach, visit local food markets, and participate in team builds, and cultural excursions in the region.
