The Pathfinder-Impact Gap Year Pricing includes the following:

  • Course Tuition Fees and Printed Training Manual
  • The epic 12-night Pathfinder Horizons Bus Tour from Cape Town to Addo (worth around R12 000)
  • All Camp Fees and Catering for Camps.**
    ** Local Day Students will be charged an additional fee for the camps and catering
  • Pathfinder-Impact / OutdoorEco Shirt and Cap
  • A ticket to the End of Year Graduation Dinner
  • Free Wi-Fi in public areas and the classroom.
  • All Transport for the program outings during each semester, excluding:
    • Personal or private travel/trips or activities,
    • Passport, Visa and travel costs to and from the venue at the beginning and end of each semester,
    • Local Day Students travel to and from classes

2025 Student Pricing

  • A non-refundable application fee of R550 is required to accompany your application. We will assess your application, including a possible interview (remote online, or in-person). Should your application be approved, we will send you the registration documents..
  • After registration submission, a non-refundable registration fee will need to be paid to secure your position on the program. Foreign students will need to apply for a Visa and may require an affidavit from us for the process.
    • Southern Africa Residents: R10 000
    • Non-Southern Africa Residents: R25 000
    • Non-South African citizens must have a valid visa to attend
  • We have limited placement positions available for the board and lodging option. The Registration Fee is vital to securing your placement.

Course Fee Payment Options

  • Total payment before the 14th February (less 6%)
  • One-Third Payment every 3 months starting on the 14th of February (less 3%)
  • 10 Monthly payments starting on the 14th February and then on the 1st of each subsequent month

Accommodation & Food Payments

  • Accommodation and Catering payments are required monthly in full by the first of the month for the duration the program.

* What’s excluded and what you need to bring:

You are responsible for the following items:
– Your own medical and standard insurance.
– Clothing and shoes, including hiking kit, sport/outdoor clothes, swimming gear (costume & towel), trail running shoes, hiking boots, hat etc.
– A sleeping bag for camping and your own pillow.
– Personal hygiene products, prescription medication and toiletries, including sun-block, hair dryer and other personal items.. (We can assist in arranging for the collection of any prescription or chronic medication at the nearest pharmacy).
– Visa and travel costs to and from the venue at the beginning and end of each semester. (We can arrange to pick you up or drop you off at the airport or local bus drop-off point, subject to prior arrangement).
– Pocket money and any extra excursion money for optional activities not included in the program.
– Bible, notebook and pen.
– Your own washing powder and pegs for your laundry.
– Your own cooldrinks, coffee, tea or hot chocolate for the dorm. A kettle, teaspoons and mugs will be provided. (Coffee and tea will be served with meals in the dining room).
– Your own travel mug and water bottle for the lectures, hiking and travel time.
– Your own mobile phone data and airtime.
– Your own laptop or tablet (optional – not required for the course).

Program Dates for 2025

We run the program yearly, from around the middle of February to the end of November (10 calendar months). Students may travel home during the vacations, unless involved in our additional holiday programs and outreaches (to Mozambique, Lesotho, Sri Lanka or in South Africa). The program commences on the 14th of February 2025 and concludes on the 30th November 2025. Students may arrive earlier in February, from the 1st onwards, to settle in, and explore the area.
